The Beauty of Motherhood

Just outside of Byron, is the whimsical wonderland of Mullumbimby. Surrounded by beautiful landscapes, waterfalls and farmland live some of the most beautiful souls.

We connected with local momma, Ruby, and her journey into motherhood in Mullum…

What is something your mother taught you, that you want to pass down to your daughter?

I always feel my mother gave me freedom, freedom to make my own decisions whether they were bad or good, freedom to travel the world, freedom to let me discover who I am. She has shown me the world, and has shown me how to be kind. I only hope I can be as good as a mother to Marley as my mum has been to me.

Describe motherhood in 3 words…

How do you find time for yourself after having a child? Do you have any favorite forms of self care?

I love to cook!! I love baking, making yummy dinners and trying new recipes. A glass of wine in the evening while cooking up a storm is my idea of a perfect night. I also love to garden and have been growing veggies, herbs and flowers

What is something being a mother has taught you?

That every woman on this planet is a super hero! The lengths you go to constantly help your little human grow into a good person. It is a 24/7 job with no breaks, but also the most rewarding job of all time.

What is your Favorite thing about living in Mullumbimby?

The People! Mullumbimby is such a lovely place to be, so many smiles and “hello’s”. People are always so friendly and happy to spark up a conversation in the street which is refreshing.

How would you describe your personal style?

My style is so dependent on my mood, I dress how I feel, the clothes I wear are to show who I am as a woman and a mother. Clothes can give you such power and opportunity to show off who you are.
